It was thrown together
quickly, as I learnt on the job, and
in places it shows.
So to mark the 1st anniversary I've been busy
improving the photos in the galleries.
I hope you like
em!
Isn't
Poole Pottery Fantastic?!
My
collection
of Poole Pottery just wont stop growing. There's
always new pieces to add, and (sometimes) some have to go to make room for
more.Most of the pots have
come from
, but a few from fairs and antique centers too.I've
been collecting Poole Pottery for five years now and think I have
more pots than are healthy and too many topost
on here but, for anyone who's interested,
some of my favourites can be
seen in the galleries, and a few caneven be bought on the Sales
page.
The pottery I’ve collected
mainly dates from three distinct periods, the mid-1920's to mid-1930's Art
Deco period (Traditional), the mid-1950's (Contemporary)
and the late 1960's to early 1970's (Delphis). For
me Poole Pottery during these periods was at the cutting edge of ceramic
design, and as such the pots really typify the eras in which they were
made. There are galleries for each of these periods with three for
Poole Delphis (Delphis Plates, Delphis
Vases and Bowls and 49'er Gallery),
Two for Art Deco Poole (Traditional
Gallery 1, and Gallery
2) and a final couple of galleries; Twintone
which contains a mix of Poole tableware and kitchenalia; and a Miscellaneous
gallery for everything else Poole that I've collected. And just so
you don't feel left, out there's a gallery for Your Pots
too, which also includes reviews of Poole
Pottery Collections on public display in UK museums.
You can navigate through the
site using the menu bar at the top and by clicking on the images, or
individual pots within groups, for closer views. And if you get
really lost, you can always refer to the site map.
I will keep
on updating this site as regularly as I can, and any substantial changes
I'll flag on the "What's New" drop down menu
above. To save time, and help keep my postings as upto date
as possible, I've also started a blog
showing all my latest finds. So if your
making a return visit to the site it may be worth checking out these
links first.
Feedback
is always welcome and thank you to everyone who's left comments so
far. So if you like what you've seen, or want to read what other
visitors have to say, have a look at my Guest
