Martin. The vase is 11.5cm tall, shape number 114, painted in the fabulous
QB or "dumb bird" pattern by Ruth Dry who worked at Poole from 1928 to
1935

Another
fine feathered design. This is Ozzie's biscuit barrel. It
stands 6" tall, shape number 230, SN pattern, painted by Vera Bridle
between 1923 and 1933
This
is Moni and Phill's fantastic freeform vase, shape number 313, painted in
PW "loops" pattern by Gwen Haskins between 1955 and '59. A
vase of this shape and pattern was illustrated in Poole Pottery
promotional leaflets at the time and must be one of the most spectacular
Freeform vases your ever likely to see.
This
one arrived in my mailbox with the following note attached - Guy Sydenham
mermaid, modeled as opposed to thrown, and salt glazed, very early Long
Island, the first firing ever to be done there in fact.
Above
is Bob's Aegean charger. Shape number 5, it is signed by Julia Wills
who worked on the Aegean range from 1972 until 1978
Above
is Brian's Poole jug with a lovely little wren like bird, shape no. 328, FB
pattern, painted by Mytle Bond
This
is Ozzie's superb collection of bi-colour Deco vases, full of jazzy
Egyptian motifs. The largest pattern AX by Anne Hatchard, C1930,
shape 916 stands 16 inches tall

This
amazing collection of Poole egg cups (shape number 713) belongs to Hilary
and shows, to great effect, the range of patterns used on
traditional Poole. I really could spend hours looking at this photo. |
